Already the days are whirling into each other, leaving me recounting the places and times in my head to work out what happened when. My laptop is not delighted with foreign internet, and refuses to behave responsibly, shunning the web and connectivity to the online world.
It's a combination I'm loving. I'm reveling in the here, the now, the different, peculiar and odd. The almost familiar nestled up alongside the usual makes me smile and slow down to better savour the difference.
So I'm not quite sure how much or often I'll post here, in the thick and lovely of this experience. I am writing (how could I not?) but there is a delay between the creation and publication, based simply on my inclination and what is happening now, or soon, or just then.
Though, if you want to see what I looked like after several hours sleep, an entire ocean and half a continent, Michelle posted of our arrival and our first full day. The light really is that clear, the kids really are having that much fun, though "Fun" doesn't begin to cover the experience so far.
Lastly, if gracious, lovely, luminous, involved and inspiring all shared genes to make a new word, that word would be the closest I know to describe Michelle. She's funky, stylish, generous, honest and funny to boot, which - far from making me insanely jealous - makes it so amazing to be her friend, and have the time and opportunity available to enjoy it.
This whole experience has been huge, and I'm off to revel in it further.
